Shirley Ann Brown Hobson

Shirley Ann Brown Hobson,80, passed away peacefully January 24, 2022 at Novant Forsyth Medical Center. She was born November 5, 1941 in Yadkin County, NC; daughter of the late Montgomery Brown and Lexie Hutchens Brown; other than her parents, she is proceeded in death by her brother-in-law Bobby Hobson and sister-in-law; Peggy Brown. She attended Union Grove Baptist Church, was a homemaker and loved taking care of her loving family. Shirley loved cooking and gardening also. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years; Marlin Sonnie Hobson, three sons, Randy Hobson (Anita), Danny Hobson (Lisa) and Richie Hobson (Teresa), five grandchildren, Mandy Cox, Cole Hobson, Alexis Hobson, Crista Hobson and Jacob Cason and great granddaughter, Carolina Cason, sister; Martha Hobson and two brothers, Roy Brown and Windle Brown (Sylvia). Her Funeral Service will be conducted Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Gooden officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Hobson will lie in state at Gentry Family Funeral Service on Saturday from 12:00 noon till 4:00 pm and on Sunday from 8:00 am till 12:30 pm. Memorials may be made to Union Grove Baptist church “Cemetery fund” 2401 Nebo Rd, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
