Shirley Scott Jenkins

Shirley Scott Wilcox Jenkins 76, of Jonesville passed away February 5, 2025 at Forsyth Medical Center Hospital. Ms. Jenkins was born in Wilkes County to Mable Wilcox and Edd Scott. Shirley loved the Lord and she was a faithful member of Arlington First Baptist Church. She was a retired school bus driver for Jonesville Elementary School and Starmount High School. She enjoyed cross-stitching, sewing, cooking and spending time tending to her yard. But most of all, she loved watching her grandchildren grow up and playing sports.

Ms. Jenkins was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Roger Nichols.

Surviving are her daughter Cindy (Randy) Benton of Jonesville, her son Shawn (Michelle) Jenkins of Boonville, grandson Tyler Jenkins, granddaughter Alyssa Jenkins, sisters Linda Church of North Wilkesboro, Debbie (Darry) Groce of Boonville, brothers Lonnie (Juanita) Nichols of Jonesville, and Johnny Wilcox of North Wilkesboro.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 8, 2025, Arlington First Baptist Church, 345 South Main Street, Jonesville, NC 28642. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow the funeral service in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks requests memorials be made to Arlington First Baptist Church. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville has the honor of serving the Jenkins family. 

The family would like to give a special thank you to her friend, Tony Royall, for all the care he has shown to Shirley.
