Shirley "Sherrill" Gray Hutchens

Shirley Gray “Sherrill” Hutchens, 83, passed away Thursday November 15, 2018. Mr. Hutchens was born July 15, 1935 in Yadkin County to the late Charlie and Vicie Myers Hutchens. He proudly served in the US Navy where he retired after 21 ½ years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Ricky Hutchens; three sisters Adalene Dobbins, Cindy Hauser, Mary Hutchens; four brothers Andrew Hutchens, Paul Hutchens, Roy Hutchens, and Luther Hutchens. Surviving are his wife of 62 years Opal Goss Hutchens; son Keith (Myra) Hutchens; sister Helen Dinkins; sister in law Lannie Pugh; brother in law Roy Goss; several special nieces and nephews and other extended family. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Sunday November 18, 2018 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday at the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Dale Wallace, Rev. Bill Hale, and Dr. John R. Shore. Burial will follow at Mt.
