Shirley Hemric Winters

Mrs. Shirley Jean Hemric Winters, 87, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024. She was born September 14, 1936 in Yadkin County to the late Walter Hemric and Jettie C. Hemric. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth H. Oregar, Mattie H. Taylor, Betty H. Solomon, Doris H. Fine; her brothers, Raymond Hemric, and Paul Hemric. Mrs. Winters was a 1954 graduate of West Yadkin High School. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church; she was a woman of prayer and faithful to her church. Shirley was a homemaker and a very hard worker, as she loved gardening. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Albert V. Winters; and her sister, Lavonda H. Boston. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 2:30 PM until 3:30 PM at Shady Grove Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 3:30 PM with Pastor Chris Benfield officiating. Burial will follow in in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shady Grove Baptist Church, for the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, which supports North American Missionaries. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Jonesville is serving the Winters family.
