Sonia Southern Buie

Sonia Day Southern Buie, age 46, gained her Angel wings on April 13, 2019. She was born April 7, 1973 in Iredell County to Dewayne and Diane Southern. She was preceded in death by her father Dewayne Southern; paternal grandparents Marie and Joe Southern; maternal grandfather Robey Bruce; niece Heather Witherspoon; grandfather JT Goforth. Sonia was a member of Konnoak Baptist. She loved her family and raising her children. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Buie III; children Amber Fuqua (Dustin Nguyen), Ian Fuqua, Kenneth Buie IV, Bryan Buie, Emmy Buie, Anthony Buie; mother Diane Bruce Southern; brother Ben (Alisha) Southern; grandmother Nancy Goforth; aunt Jane Witherspoon; uncles Robert (Trudy) Goforth, Mark (Shannon) Bruce; step-grandmother Brenda Bruce; mother-in-law Mena Buie; father-in-law Kenneth (Sentry) Buie Jr.; sister-in-law Devin Buie; a number of nieces and nephews.  A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Harmony Cemetery, in Harmony, NC.
