Stonie Dale Holcomb

Stonie Dale Holcomb, 73, passed away Tuesday December 19, 2023. He was born November 8, 1950 in Surry County to the late Weaver Holcomb and Ruby Wiles Henderson. Mr. Holcomb was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. He worked for 36 years for R J Reynolds. Stonie worked with the baseball program for Yadkin County, an avid Golfer, was a Volunteer Fireman at Forbush Fire department and loved watching UNC basketball. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Dallas “Bill” Holcomb, Weaver Gray Holcomb. Surviving are his wife of 48 years Linda Cockerham Holcomb; sons Ben (Kristin) Holcomb, Jamie (Dacia) Dale Holcomb; grandchildren Amelia Holcomb, Aubrey Holcomb; nephews Nathan (Steph) Holcomb, Scotty Holcomb; nieces Holly McCann, Courtney (Sammy) Ball. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Union Grove Baptist Church by Rev. Kenny Gooden. The family would like to say a very special thank you to the staff at the CVICU Forsyth Medical Center and also to Joy Cockerham for the loving care given to Mr. Holcomb.
