EAST BEND-  Mrs. Sue Hupp Brown, 73, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at her home.  She was born May 2, 1948 in Yadkin County to the late Philip Joshua and Ruth Smitherman Hupp.  Mrs. Brown was retired with 32 years of service in the Cytogenetics Lab at Wake Forest Baptist Health.  She was an active and faithful member of East Bend United Methodist Church where she served the church on various committees.  She volunteered so much of her time with East Bend Food Pantry, Yadkin Christian Ministries, Mountain Valley Hospice, and was always willing to help all of her friends and neighbors of the Yadkin County community.  Mrs. Brown truly devoted her life as service to others and not service to herself.  Surviving are her devoted husband of 54 years, Charlie Leon Brown, of the home; her beloved children, Darren Leon Brown, and wife, Tasha of East Bend; Sherry Brown Allen of Mt. Airy; Cameron Philip Brown and fiance’ Miranda Whetstone of East Bend; grandchildren, Catherine “Makenzie” Brown Matthews, Dakota Riley Brown, Lacey Renee Brown, Trevor Winfield Nance, Joshua “Dalton” Nance, Nathan William Nance; and her sister, Anne Adams and husband, Jack of East Bend.  Her funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday July 17, 2021at East Bend United Methodist Church by Rev. Andy Lambert and Rev. David Blankenberg.  The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 10 :00 AM Saturday before the service in the sanctuary.  Interment will follow in the East Bend Friends Cemetery.  The family would like to express their gratitude to Yadkin County Rescue Squad, East Bend Fire Department and their First Responders, Yadkin County E.M.S., and Yadkin County Sheriffs Office for their prompt response and loving care provided.  Online condolences may be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
