Sue Brown Pettit

Sue Brown Pettit, age 80, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021, at her home after a brief battle with cancer. She was born July 18, 1940 in Yadkin County to the late Frank and Treva Vestal Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Craig Eugene Pettit; her brothers, Paul Brown, and Bernard Brown; brother-in-law, Ray Whitaker, and sister-in-law, Margie Brown. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Delmer Pettit; grandchildren, Devin Pettit, Aubrey Pettit; daughter-in-law, Melissa Jester Pettit; sister, Eva Whitaker, and sister-in-law, Odessa Brown. Sue graduated from East Bend High School, and Mitchell Community College with an accounting degree. She enjoyed collecting butter dishes, making and teaching how to make porcelain dolls. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM, Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Faith Community Baptist Church. Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:30PM, at the church with Pastor Brian Poindexter and Pastor Brandon Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
