Talmadge "Tal" Paige Blackburn

Mr. Talmadge “Tal” Paige Blackburn, age 49, went on to be with the Lord on August 23, 2022. Talmadge was born in Surry County on February 9, 1973 to Terry D. and Judy Cook Blackburn.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bill and Mary Blackburn; maternal grandparents, Jimmy Lee and Lucille Cook. 

Tal was an extremely talented carpenter and there was no project he wouldn’t or couldn’t tackle.  He was a graduate from Appalachian State University as well as Starmount High School.  He was a member of Bible Baptist Church. Tal felt so accomplished once he had completed the beautiful floors and saw the cross pattern in-laid there in the foyer of the church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Caleb and Kathryn of Alva Florida; father, Terry Blackburn; mother, Judy Blackburn; brother, Patrick Blackburn; special friends, Shannon, Seth, & Hope Swaim, and Jean & Claude Macy. 

A private family graveside service will be officiated by Rev. Dwayne Lankford at Bible Baptist Church Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bible Baptist Church, c/o Building Fund or Missionaries Reynaldo Olivo and Joel Silos, who were very close friends of Tal.
