Vogts East Bend - Taran Malachi Vogts, 19, born April 7,1998. To those who knew Taran best, September 5, 2017 is the day the music died. He always strived to be the best at everything he purposed his heart and mind to. He was an accomplished artist, musician and student. Taran led the marching band as drum major his senior year and graduated Forbush High school as Salutatorian in 2015, earning an academic scholarship to East Carolina University, where he pursued a degree towards his greatest passion – music. He enjoyed performing at football games on Saturday as a member of the Marching Pirates. A young man blessed with so many talents and gifted intellectually, Taran was able to achieve so much in his short time. His greatest accomplishment was leading his father to Christ and producing an unending love into his family. Taran is preceded in death by his mamaw, Bonnie Brown. Taran is survived by his loving parents Chris and Jan Vogts and his sister Eilonwy (Eily). Also, by his poppy Jimmy Brown, uncles and aunts Jason and Angie Brown and Chuck and Jill Crews and many cousins Jacob and Samuel Crews, Isaac, Elijah, Ana, Rachel and Judah Brown. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A private service will be held at a later date.
