Ted E. Lee Porter, Sr., 74, passed away peacefully at Novant Forsyth Medical Center on Tuesday, July 16, 2019. He was born in Wilkes County, NC on June 5, 1945; son of the late Alice Porter. Mr. Porter retired from R J Reynolds Tobacco Company. He enjoyed Nascar, a fan especially of Dale Earnhardt, loved his black chevys, John Deere tractors, his Harley Davidson; and was an avid coin and antique collector. Survivors include his children; Terry Lee Porter, Joyce Atkinson, Heather Leigh Riggan (Benjamin) and Ted E. Lee Porter, Jr., Also surviving his companion; Elsie Roe, 8 grandchildren; Cody Lee Porter, Jodie Lynn Porter, Julia Atkinson, Jena Atkinson, Felicity Leigh Riggan, Oakley Michael Porter and Briar Comer. Two sisters; Brenda Thompson (Jerry), and Sue Rash, 4 brothers; Jackie, Jerry, Johnny and James Spicer, special family; Lance and Chris Porter, and his 4-legged companions Harley Davidson Porter and Duchess Porter. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers. A celebration of life graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 11:00 am at West Yadkin Baptist Church cemetery with Mr. James Gillespie speaking. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Gentry Family Funeral Service, Yadkinville.
