Jonesville-  Mr. Terry Dale Blackburn, 76, of Oak Street passed away peacefully, Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Willowbrook Health Care.  He was born September 14, 1947 in Surry County to the late William G. “Bill”’ and Mary Finney Blackburn.  Mr. Blackburn was a graduate of Jonesville High School Class of 1965.  He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving as a Fire Fighter in the Vietnam War for 18 months.  Mr. Blackburn worked several years with the State of North Carolina as a Surveyor before transitioning to used car sales.  He became a graduate of High Point Auctioneers School, and then lived in Maryland for over 25 years where he worked at the Great Mills Trading Post.  He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Jonesville.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Tal Blackburn.  Surviving are his former wife and special caregiver, Judie Blackburn of Jonesville; a son, Patrick William Blackburn of Jonesville; grandchildren, Caleb Amos Blackburn and Kathryn Mary Blackburn of Alva, Fla.; his sister, Cathy (Jimmy) Shore of Jonesville; niece, Robyn (Wesley) Winters of Boonville; nephew, Erik (Renea) Shore of Hamptonville; great nieces and great nephews, Justin (Kelsey) Crouse, Gracee Shore, Chloe Shore, Eli Winters, Evan Shore; former Brother-in-Law, Harold (Brenda) Cook and their son, Jason Cook; and special caretakers, Korbyn Brown, Opal Wright, and Harold Cook.  Mr. Blackburn will be available for public viewing from 9-5 on Saturday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville.   A graveside service will be 2 PM Sunday at Bible Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Dwyane Lankford.  Full Military Honors will be given by Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and the US Air Force Honor Guard.  Online condolences may be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
