Mr. Terry Randolph “Randy” Brown, age 78, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. He was born November 16, 1943 in Surry County to the late Orville William and Mildred Viola Johnson Brown. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Jackson Brown of Georgia.
He is survived by his loving wife of the home of 57 years, Kay Brown. Together they had two sons, Stephen (Robin) Brown and Daniel (Sandy) Brown, all of Hamptonville. They also have three grandsons, Carson, Peyton, and Jackson Brown. Also surviving, are his sister, Johnsie (Russell) Nixon of Hamptonville and Diana Brown, a sister-in-law of Georgia; two nephews, Robert and Lee Nixon, two nieces Lydia (Brian) Boatright and Hallie Brown of Georgia; as well as many other family members. Randy was a 1962 graduate of Yadkinville High School where he was a great athlete. He was a faithful member of Mountain View Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Randy loved being outdoors and in his younger days he kept bees and had a fruit orchard. He loved to bird hunt, loved his dogs, and loved to watch the birds around the house. His sons often said that their dad knew a little bit about everything “a jack-of-all-trades.”
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 2 PM at Mountain View Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Tucker, Rev. Terry Long, and Rev. Anthony Silvers officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 2 PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, 401 Elkin Hwy, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659. Online condolences may be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
