Thelma Lee Barnard Chambers

March 5, 1940 — December 20, 2020

Thelma Lee Barnard Chambers, 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 20, 2020. She was born March 5, 1940 in Iredell County to the late James Phillip Barnard and Octavia Friesland Barnard. Thelma was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she was secretary and treasurer for many years. Thelma loved people and never met a stranger. She was a sales associate in the Electronics Department at the Statesville Walmart for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters Isabell Galliher, Ernestine Cleary; a brother Charlie Bruce Barnard. Surviving are her husband of 61 years Lendon Chambers; children Terry (Melissa) Chambers, Darrell (Anue) Chambers, Leslie (Marvin) Andrews, Chris Chambers; grandchildren Kelly (Adam) Wilcox, Hannah Chambers, Jennie (Justin) Smith, Lanette Lassiter, Laresa (Eric) Grimwood, Heather (Jimmy) Penland, Austin Chambers; great grandson Eli Wilcox. A public viewing will be held from 12:00 - 5:00 PM Tuesday December 22, 2020 and 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Wednesday December 23, 2020 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday December 23, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Bert Mathis and Rev. Glen Belcher. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Chambers family.
