Thomas "Denny" Choplin

Choplin Yadkinville – Thomas “Denny” Choplin, 79, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018. He was born August 12, 1939 in Yadkin County to the late Ollie Hubert Choplin and Annie Mae Driver Choplin.  Surviving is his wife, Patricia “Patty” Poteate Choplin; children, Brent (Drama) Choplin, Julia (Eddie) Norman; grandchildren, Michelle (Ben) Corcoran, Melonie (Travis) Fleshman, Taylor (Whitley Todd) Choplin, Mallory Choplin; great grandchildren, Amelia, Eliza, Amos, Silas Fleshman, Audrey, Nora Corcoran; special cousins, Frank (Norma) Noble, Wanda (Joe) Doss; brothers-in-law, Avery Poteate, Eddy (Frances) Poteate, Joe (Cathe) Poteat; and several other family members.  His memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Yadkinville United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jonathon Gaylord, Travis Fleshman, and his wife Rev. Patty Choplin.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.  A devoted man to his family and talented carpenter, he loved helping others.  He will be remembered for his amusing stories and heart of gold.
