Thomas "Larry" Swaim

Mr. Thomas “Larry” Swaim, 73, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.  Mr. Swaim was born January 15, 1948 in Surry County to Paul and Minnie Brooks Swaim.  He enjoyed fishing, his tractors, and riding horses and go carts. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Swaim was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Wall; and two brothers, James Ray Swaim and Clyde Swaim.  He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Willa Dean Haynes Swaim; children, Melissa Swaim (Larry Melton), Candace Chambers (Rodney Zweigle), and Megan (Daniel) Key; grandchildren, Michael & Wesley Pope, Austin Chambers, Tyler & Dylan Key; a brother, Steve Swaim; and several nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30AM, Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Flat Rock Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Stephen Evans officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00AM prior to the service at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gentry Funeral Service to assist the family with funeral expenses. 

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the ICU staff of WFBMC, 8th floor, for the loving care given to Mr. Swaim.
