Boonville Mr. Tommy Anderson Chipman, 75, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at SECU Hospice Home. Mr. Chipman was born May 11, 1942 in Surry County to Willie and Daisy Brown Chipman. He was a member of Longtown Methodist Church where he was a former Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. Mr. Chipman was a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Vietnam War. He retired from Lydall and was previously the owner of Pea Ridge Milling Co. Tommy loved the Carolina Tarheels and coached several ball teams at West Yadkin. In addition to his parents, Mr. Chipman was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lori Chipman; his father-in law and mother-in-law, Beecher and Grace Lee Shore; brothers, Otis and Curt Chipman; sisters, Frankie Shaffner, Dorothy Southard, and Betty Gentry. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Elaine Shore Chipman; two daughters, Dana (Chub) Ladd and Emily Chipman; a son, Blake Chipman (fiancée Heather Abbott); grandchildren, Kattie Chipman (fiancée Josh Harris) and Austin Chipman (Bobbi Southard); sisters, Lola (Buddy) Key and Jane (Albert) Darnell; brothers, Charles (Barbara) Chipman, Cecil (Sue) Chipman, Carl (Susan) Chipman, and Bobby (Sandy) Chipman; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Longtown Methodist Church with Pastor Tilden Bridges and Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Longtown Cemetery with full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and the Army National Guard Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to SECU Hospice Home 320 W.
