Tommy Guy Woodie

Mocksville Mr. Tommy Guy Woodie, 64, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022 at SECU Hospice Care Center. Mr. Woodie was born January 21, 1958 in Wilkes County to Willie Guy Woodie and Nancy Juanita Money. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, mowing, and riding his motorcycle. Mr. Woodie was a veteran of the US Navy and took great pride in having served his country. He also worked as a police officer in North Wilkesboro for 10 years. Mr. Woodie was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathy LaPrad Woodie; two daughters, April (Darrell) Hylton and Ashley (John Austin) McMeans; grandchildren, Abigail and Katlin Hylton; an aunt, Sylvia Searcy; his K-9 companion Luke; and his feline friends, Snowball and Tigger. A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00PM, Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Southside Baptist Church with Pastor Ryan Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Ronda Town Cemetery with full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and the Naval Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00PM prior to the service at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mtn. Valley Hospice, 1427 Edgewood Drive Mt. Airy, NC 27030. The family wishes to thank the staff of Forsyth Medical Center, Mt. Valley Hospice and Salem Chest Specialist for the loving care given to Mr. Woodie.
