Tony Larry Jester

Tony Larry Jester, age 81, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, Thursday, March 18, 2021. He was born on February 12, 1940 in Yadkin County to the late John and Alta Daye Jester. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Jester; brothers, and sisters, Jerry Jester, Terry Jester, Betty Jester, and Linda Williams. Tony was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He loved watching ballgames, fishing, hunting, and golfing with his son Mark. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 Years, Verina Childress Jester; granddaughters, Meranda (Taylor) Shoemaker, Macy Jester, and Annabelle Dyson; sisters, and brother, Nadine Daye, Judy (Larry) Comer, Peggy (Ricky) Moxley, and Jackie (Barbara) Jester; sisters-in-law, Diane Jester, and Polly Jester; former daughter-in-law, Melody Dyson and several nieces, and nephews. Mr. Jester will be available for public viewing, Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 1:00 PM until 4:30 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Benfield and Rev. James Childress officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the church prior to the service. The family would like to thank Danny and Joyce Stone for the love, compassion, and countless meals during this difficult time.
