Tosha Nicole Martinez

Mrs. Tosha Nicole Martinez, 41, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025. She was born in Yadkin County on January 17, 1984 to Ronald Poindexter and Cathy Jackson. Tosha took care of everyone and was a second mom to so many. She had a big heart caring for senior citizens and she enjoyed working in nursing homes for most of her life. Tosha loved keeping her yard up and flowers. She loved to cook and was the best cook, always making everything homemade. Tosha’s heart was so full when her granddaughter, Raya, was born and she always enjoyed talking on the phone and getting to spend time with her and her other grandchildren. Everyone who had the special privilege to know her, will dearly miss her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gabriel Martinez; her nanny, Martha Dillow; and a step grandson, Kayden Dewalt. She is survived by her son, Isaiah (Maria) Martinez; step children, Vicky Martinez, Gabriel Martinez, Jr., and David Martinez; grandchildren, Raya Martinez, Sha-veh Weavil; Demont “Bubba” Dewalt, Jiheem “Pook” Dewalt, Shakwan “Tank” Dewalt, Olivia “Wibby” Dewalt, Jermelia “Mel Mel” Harris, and Jerriaa “Ry Ry” Harris; parents, Cathy (Michael) Jackson and Ronald Poindexter; siblings, Toni (Robert) Goodlin, Dawanna Jackson, Michael Jackson, and Tyler Poindexter; and nieces and nephews, Travion Kimber, Tia-yanah Kimber, Kaiden Goodlin, Kamron Goodlin, and Kashton Goodlin, Victoria Jackson, Sophia Jackson, Dontae Jackson, and J.R. Buck.

A celebration of Tosha’s life will be announced as soon as arrangements have been finalized.
