Vena Martin Minton

Jonesville – Vena Martin Minton, 90, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018.  She was born September 14, 1927 in Surry County to the late Robert Lester Martin and Lois Kerley Martin.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Vess Minton; granddaughter, Monica Dawn Minton; sisters, Mildred Bryant, Bobbie Roberts; brothers, R.L. Martin, Bill Martin.  Surviving are her sons, Ricky (Candy) Minton, Donny (Kathy) Minton, Marty (Linda) Minton; grandchildren, Shannon (Dandy) Minton, Brandon (Donna) Minton, Nick (Sarah) Minton, Curtis (Heather) Coe, Zack Rector, Katelyn Rector, Chase Rector, Rickylee Minton, Brock Minton, Brittany (Travis) Leonard; twelve great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Island Ford Baptist Church by the Rev. Charlie Kennedy and the Rev. Jerry Childress.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Island Ford Baptist Church.  The family would like to thank Chatham Nursing and Rehab Center and Woltz Hospice Home for all the love and care shown to Vena.  Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville is serving the Minton family.  Online condolences can be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
