Vera Ruth Carter Campbell

East Bend Ms. Vera Carter Campbell, 83, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018 after an extended illness. She was born August 3, 1935 in Yadkin County to Carl and Blanche Davis Carter. Vera Ruth worked for many years at Davis Dept. Store in Winston Salem and later worked at Salem Creek. In addition to her parents, Vera Ruth was preceded in death by two siblings, Jessie William Carter and Karen Carter Matthews. She is survived by her son, Johnny Carl Hemric; one granddaughter, Heather Lutz; and a niece and nephew, Becky Matthews and Eddie (Donna) Carter. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00AM, Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Gentry Family Chapel with Pastor Chad Shoaf officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Friends Meeting Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00AM prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel Friends Meeting c/o Carolyn Hinshaw 3617 Mt.
