Vergie Mae Joyner Brown

Winston – Salem – Vergie Mae Joyner Brown, 85, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022.  She was born March 4, 1937 in Yadkin County to the late Berlin Jasper Joyner and Ollie Steele Joyner.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Mark Brown, Sr.; one great grandchild; sister, Mildred Haynes; brother, Junior Joyner.  Surviving is her husband, Lonnie “Dickie” Richard Brown; daughter, Karen Dillon; grandchildren, Mark (Jennifer) Brown, Jr., Christina Dillon, Johnny Dillon; ten great grandchildren; sisters, Maxine Wooten, Shirley Wooten, Glenda Hopkins, Gale Steelman; brothers, Gary Joyner, Kenny Joyner; and several nieces and nephews.  Her funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Peace Haven Baptist Church by the Rev. Jon Bowman and the Rev.
