Vernetta Maxine Brown Todd

Vernetta Maxine Brown Todd, 91, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018. She was born in Yadkin County on August 20, 1927 to the late Isom and Bessie Simmons Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Brown, Alvin Brown; two sisters Opal Vanhoy, Darlene St.John; daughter-in-law Margaret Todd; and a special Aunt Mary Overman. Mrs. Todd was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church. She was a fantastic homemaker, mother, and grandmother. She loved crocheting, knitting, raising vegetables, and spoiling her family. She is survived by her husband Gerald Gray Todd; sons, Michael Todd, Mark Todd (Sandra); grandchildren Amanda Todd (Ed Rainey), Nicholas Todd, Whitley Todd (Taylor Choplin); sister, Betty Brown; special 1st cousin Rose Emma Andrews; special niece Lola Hutchens. A funeral service will be held Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Deep Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Burris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 14, 2018, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Deep Creek Baptist Church.
