Hamptonville Mr. William Harold Stokes, 87, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at his home. Mr. Stokes was born January 9, 1930 in Yadkin County to George and Jettie Shores Stokes. He was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stokes was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Doris Swaim Stokes; step children, Kent (Lisa) Smith, Cammy (Alex) Orozco, and Bryan (Misty) Smith; grandchildren, Samantha (Jarrod) Billings, Haley Orozco, and Robert Smith; great grandchildren, Mason Sparks, and Brooks “Bubba” Billings; a special brother, Joe (Cynthia) Stokes; sister, Gladys Lowe; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00PM, Tuesday evening, at Gentry Family Chapel in Jonesville with Bro. Kevin Blevins officiating.
