Walter Gray Jester

Jester Yadkinville-Mr. Walter Gray Jester, 70, of Yadkinville passed away Friday, January 29, 2021. He was born in Yadkin County on April 19, 1950 to Graham Winfrey and Mary Elizabeth Black Jester. Mr. Jester was a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church. He was a truck driver for 34 ½ years. He also worked with the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office as a detention officer. He served communities as a volunteer fire fighter in Yadkinville, Forbush, Lewisville, and Courtney. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jester was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Robert White and Albert “Shorty” Shoemaker. Surviving are his wife, Kathie Gough Jester; his children, Michelle (Chris) Harger and by Christopher (Crystal) Jester; three grandchildren, Dustin Cole, Ryan Cole, and Hailey Jester; sisters Thelma White, Kathryn Shoemaker, and Barbara Hutson; brothers Roy (Betty) Jester and Graham (Diane) Jester; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Olive UMC Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Ammons Officiating.
