Wayne Ladd

Yadkinville Mr. Lester Wayne “Big Boy” Ladd, 65, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at his home. Mr. Ladd was born March 16, 1952 in Surry County to Lester and Ruby Matthews Ladd. He enjoyed spending time with family and canine companions, being outside, and sports. Mr. Ladd was especially proud of his grandchildren. Mr. Ladd was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Toni Bruce Ladd; two children, Jason Wayne Ladd and Jamie (David) Cranfill; grandchildren, Justin Ladd, Rylee Cranfill and Isaac Cranfill; and one brother, Jerry “Chub” (Dana) Ladd. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Bill Hale officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2725 Old US Hwy 421 Yadkinville, NC 27055.
