Wendy Mathis Shore

Wendy Mathis Shore went to her eternal home on Saturday, March 27, 2021.  She was born on June 6, 1968 in Surry county to James Ray and Dorry Prevette Mathis.  Wendy grew up in Yadkin County, and graduated from Starmount High School.  She went on to complete the Radiology Technician Program through Wilkes Regional Medical Center then she earned an advanced certificate at UNC Chapel Hill.  She worked as a Radiologist Technician at Wilkes Regional Medical Center and Davis Regional Medical Center.  Wendy was the life of the party and could put together a party or family gathering in the blink of an eye.  She loved to draw, was very crafty, made beautiful wreaths and jewelry, loved to talk, and enjoyed family time.  Her grandbabies were her world and she loved them very much. Found written in Wendy’s Bible were these words: “A virtuous Woman: This is what I aspire to be! Lord – help me be this kind of mom to my sons, let them always know how very, very much I love them!”

Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Ray & Dorry Mathis; children, Alexander Lee Wright (Weslyn Walters), Reagan James (Addison) Wright; grandchildren, Sawyer, Bradley, & Jonah Wright; sister, Jill (Rodney) Crater; niece, Meghan Crater; nephew, Cameron Crater.

The family is eternally grateful for the loving care given to Wendy from her precious parents who always went over and above to care for her.  Also, a very special thanks to Pastor Scott and the Swan Creek Prayer Group (Wendy’s Angels) for all the prayers and support. 

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Swan Creek Baptist Church in Jonesville, officiated by Rev. Scott Bishop and Rev. Ryan Weaver.  Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, prior to the service at the church.
