William "Bill" Luther Reavis

Yadkinville Mr. William “Bill” Luther Reavis, Jr., 90, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at SECU Hospice Home of Yadkin. Mr. Reavis was born April 9, 1927 in Yadkin County to William and Henrietta Reavis. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of South Oak Ridge Baptist Church where he served as choir director for many years. He also volunteered for more than 20 years for the NC Baptist Men. Mr. Reavis enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Reavis was preceded in death by four sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Lucille Casstevens Reavis; two children, Lynn (Ron) Ashley and Dale (Tonja) Reavis; grandchildren, Angela (Les) Harvey, Jennifer (Chris) Wharton, Zeb (Tracey) Reavis, Jonathan (Laura) Reavis, and William L. “Lucas” Reavis III; great grandchildren, Mia Harvey, Ian, Olivia, & Harper Wharton, Ava Reavis, and Jude Reavis; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00PM, Friday, March 23, 2018 at Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Phil Beavers and Rev. Chris Hauser officiating. Burial will follow at South Oak Ridge Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
