William "David" Boger

William David Boger, 68, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018. He was born May 15, 1949 in Davie County to the late William Spencer Boger and Olga Loualla Smith Boger. David served in the Courtney Volunteer Fire department for 25 years. He served as Deacon of Solid Rock Baptist Church for many years. Mr. Boger was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. Surviving are his loving wife Elizabeth Marie “Midge” Boger; a devoted daughter Stephanie Marie Brawley; sisters Bessie Jane Wall, Sandra (Jimmy) Gaither, Mary Ann (George) Stevens; brothers Jerry (Sandra) Boger, Michael (Mary) Boger; special friends Larry and Linda Harrison, Monroe and Bonnie Otto, Robert and Sandy Wiles, Blanche Hutchens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Solid Rock Baptist Church by Rev. Robert Wiles, Rev. Jason Penley, and Dr. James Hunt. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of IU unit at Forsyth Medical Center, Select Specialty Hospital at Moses Cone Hospital, Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care of Yadkin County for the loving care given to Mr. Boger. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to SECU Hospice Home, 244 N. Lee Avenue, Yadkinville, NC 27055 or North Carolina Kidney Foundation, 620 Montana Drive, Charlotte, N 28216.
