William Matthew Whitaker

Mr. William Matthew Whitaker, 33, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021.  Matt was born April 23, 1988 in Forsyth County to Jeffrey and Elizabeth Brendle Whitaker.  He enjoyed working out at the gym, but his greatest joy was spending time with his nephew Hayden. 

Matt was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Laura Brendle and Mildred Walker; and an uncle, Howard Whitaker.  In addition to his parents, Matt is survived by his brothers, Dexter Whitaker and Austin Pope; nephews and niece, Hayden Ward, Alex Pope, and Reagan Watts; cousins, Ryan (Jacki) Whitaker, Jason Brendle, Amanda Brendle, and Jeremiah (Jessica) Wood; aunts and uncles, Diane (Tim) Josey and John (Ann) Brendle; and many special friends. 

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00AM, Saturday, December 4, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church cemetery with Pastor Bert Mathis officiating.  The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, 4921 Harmony Hwy Hamptonville, NC 27020.
