William Charles Petree, Sr.

Yadkinville Mr. William Charles Petree, Sr., 77, of Yadkinville, passed away Friday, June 3, 2022 at his home. He was born in Yadkin County on September 7, 1944 to William Wesley and Ellen Jeanette Hutchens Petree. Mr. Petree was a member of Pilot View Friends Meeting. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Wilson Petree; and his former wife, Wanda Lou Cothren Petree. Surviving are his children, William “Billy” (Donna) Petree, Jr., and Michael Petree; grandchildren, Nathanael Petree and Daniel Petree; his sisters, Ann (Buddy) Groce and Druie(Tim) Frye; brothers, Virgil Wayne (Shirley) Petree. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 6, 2022 at 2:00PM at Pilot View Friends meeting with Rev. Josh Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, June 6, 2022 from 1:00-2:00 one hour prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pilot View Friends Meeting, 3225 Pilot View Church Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
