William "Rex" Baity

Boonville Mr. William “Rex” Baity, 65, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Rex was born February 16, 1957 in Yadkin County to G.W. and Dorothy Stallings Baity. He worked for Yadkin County EMS for 30 years, Yadkin County Sherriff’s Office, and Boonville Police Department. He was on the Yadkin County School Board for over 20 years, taught chess at Boonville Elementary School and enjoyed antiquing, auctions, and flea markets. In addition to his father, Rex was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Baity. He is survived by his son, William Paul Baity; mother, Dorothy Baity; a brother, Donald Baity (Bob Hicks); his friend and son’s mother, Lynette Baity; and a special friend, Charles Dinkins. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00PM, Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville. Burial will follow at Yadkin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00PM, Wednesday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation 30 East 33rd Street New York, NY 10016.
