ELKIN-  Mr. William C. “Bill” Vanhoy, 77, of Collins Street passed away Monday, March 25, 2024.  He was born February 2, 1947 in Surry County to the late William Kermit and Gladys Elaine Shore Vanhoy.  Mr. Vanhoy worked several years as a truck driver with G.G. Parsons Trucking and Douglas and Sons Trucking.  He loved antique cars, the Green Bay Packers, and was an avid Ford Racing NASCAR Brad Kezelowski fan.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Michael Vanhoy and Ronnie Vanhoy.  Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Vanhoy; his son, William Shane Vanhoy; his sister, Gayle (Gary) Salley; and several step-children and extended family.  A Celebration of Life Gathering of Friends will be 3:00-4:00  PM Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville.
