Willie Johnson Vestal

Yadkinville – Willie “Johnson” Vestal, 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 14, 2023.  He was born April 8, 1941 in Forsyth County to the late Willie Taft Vestal and Ardee Long Vestal.  He owned and operated Vestal Milling Company, that was started by his father in 1965.  Johnson loved farming and spending time on his tractor.  Johnson’s pride and joy were his grandsons, he enjoyed spending time with them and loved watching them play sports. He enjoyed going to Bowman Gray and watching his favorite driver Tim Brown race.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Vestal.  Surviving is his wife, Helen Joyner Vestal; children, Crystal (Brad) Sprague, Penny (Scott) Spernoga, Justin (Natalie) Vestal; grandsons, Tyler Sprague, Pierce Sprague, Chase Spernoga, Cole Spernoga, and Henson Vestal.  His funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Center Global Methodist Church by the Rev. Justin Douglass and the Rev. Andy Lambert.  Burial will follow at Center Memorial Cemetery with full military honors by the Yadkin VFW Post 10346.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, December 18, 2023 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.  Memorials can be made to Center Global Methodist Church, 1400 Center Road, Yadkinville, NC  27055.  Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Vestal family.
