Wilma Mathis Bowman

Yadkinville Mrs. Wilma Kathryn Mathis Bowman, 71, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Bowman was born June 11, 1946 in Yadkin County to Bob Glenn and Nadie Shore Mathis. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Louis Bowman, Sr.; two brothers, Noah and Sanford Mathis; and three sisters, Marilyn Dobbins Long, Reata Bryant, and Virginia Messick. She is survived by a son, Melvin Louis Bowman, Jr.; five grandchildren, Ariel, Jacob, Elizabeth, Noah, and Xander Bowman; two great grandchildren, Draco and Marcelene; three sisters, Velna Hensdale Riggins, Clarris (Tommy) Collins, and Audrey Hobson; two brothers, Dale (Nettie Ruth) Mathis and Glenn Cloyce Mathis; a brother-in-law, Albert Bryant; a sister-in-law, Peggy Mathis; and a multitude of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Deep Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mtn. Valley Hospice, PO Box 1267 Yadkinville, NC 27055.
