Hamptonville Mr. Wilson Brown Cox, 96, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mr. Cox was born October 15, 1922 in Brookland Arkansas to Wilbur and Bessie Mae Brown Cox. He served in the US Army as First Sergeant in WWII and the Korean War. Mr. Cox worked as a private investigator and an insurance adjuster for many years. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church and enjoyed golfing, bowling and working outside. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his wife, Camellia Barker Cox; two sisters, Vondell Cox and Cassie Martin; and three brothers, Tom, Buster and Kenneth Cox. He is survived by his daughter, Celeste (Tim) Tucker and niece, Susie (Wally) Burchette; grandchildren, Joyce (Terry) Long, Paul Tucker, James Tucker, Ashley, Stephen, Andrew, Rebekah, and Brent; great grandchildren, Maylee, Millie, Ryn, Skyler, Tucker, and Niccole; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 5:00PM, Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Mountain View Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Tucker and Rev. Terry Long officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors provided by NC National Guard Honor Guard and Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00PM prior to the service at the church. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Yadkin Nursing Center for the loving care given to Mr. Cox.
