Agnes Childress Ham

Ham Yadkinville-  Mrs. Agnes Childress Ham, 93, of Dobbins Mill Road passed away peacefully Friday, October 06, 2017 at her home.  She was born February 18, 1924 in Surry County to the late Joseph and Ida Stanley Childress.  Mrs. Ham was retired from Unifi, Inc., and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.  She enjoyed working on the farm with her husband and loved taking care of her cows, when she was able.  Mrs. Ham loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and a great friend to everyone.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Warner Ham; and by her 8 brothers and sisters, Clyde Childress, Thurmond Childress, Vallie Reece, Callie Branon, Conard Childress, Collie Oliver, Nellie Walker, and Bruce Childress.  Surviving are her daughters, Evyonne (Rob) Hutchins, Yadkinville; Daltha Cameron (Dewey Beshears), Winston-Salem; Tammy (Donald) Marshall; grandchildren, Anne-Marie (Mackie) Pritchard, Natalie (Tracy) Kimmer, Jon (Anna) Hutchins, Hannah (Cody) Spicer, Addy Marshall; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Sunday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.  Her funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Randy Johnson.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mt.
