Violet Ruth Williams Rutledge

Violet Ruth Williams Rutledge, 88, passed away Tuesday November 28, 2017. She was born December 9, 1928 in Yadkin County to the late Joy and Sally Hobson Williams. Mrs. Rutledge was a member of Mt. Carmel Friends. She was preceded in death by two sisters Edna Hobson and Mabel Carter. Surviving are her husband of 70 years John Clifton Rutledge; a daughter Cathy Gibson; a son Johnny Clifton (Sheila) Rutledge; grandchildren Kelly (Brian) McCollum, Sheri (Kelly) Swaim; great grandchildren Ethan McCollum, Lucas McCollum, Corbin McCollum, Jackson Swaim, Cole Swaim, Maggie Violet Swaim; sisters Fadean Hawks, Charlotte Willard. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Friday December 1, 2017 at Mt. Carmel Friends. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 at the church by Brother Lawrence Warden and Rev. Jeff Farmer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of Yadkin Nursing Center for the loving care given to Mrs. Rutledge.
